What is a Latex Vac-Bed?
Essentially the Latex Vac-Bed is a roomy latex bag, fitted with tubing that forms a frame. A one way valve is fitted into the upper surface. This is used to extract air from the Latex Vac-Bed by using a vacuum or similar device. With the vacuum off you can clearly communicate with the participants. We believe this adds an element of safety, but also pleasure in the sensory deprivation experience.
Why remove the air from the Latex Vac-Bed? What is the sensation?
The sensations experienced inside the Latex Vac-Bed and reasons for seeking these sensations are varied.
|
1)
|
First, there is the element of surprise. The air removed from the Latex Vac-Bed causes the top and bottom heavy duty latex sheets to press together. The latex stretches around the participant and freezes the person's body position. Even with partial air withdrawal, the person trapped inside the Latex Vac-Bed is unable to move. Just a little vacuum can create a significant restrictive force. An escape artist will be at a loss as to how to move to get out.

Second, there is the tactile sensations of pressure. The latex compresses all parts of the body, including the breasts and genitals. This is a unique tactile sensation that can be very pleasurable for latex or restraint fetish pleasure. The degree of pressure can be from light - where some movement can be made, to very intense where the vacuum can be so intense the tactile sensation of abrasion and pain can be felt on the skin surface. The sensation of the vacuum on the head is very intense and does require care. The pressure can be so intense as to cause restriction in blood flow. Constant communication with the participant is needed to monitor levels of consciousness and degree of comfort during the experience.

Third, the psychological pleasure of immobilization. It is amazing for many participants to experience total immobilization without typical bondage restraints.
|
|
4)
|
Fourth, the visual pleasure of enjoying a partner’s naked body encased in latex. The sight of aroused nipples, the outline of a vagina or an erect penis. Power and control play can add to that visual pleasure. While each individual will have their own time limits, average play is from 20 to 45 minutes at a time.

Can I use theLatex Vac-Bed solo - without a play partner?
As with all BDSM play, safety is a primary concern. Our Latex Vac-Beds are not made for solo sensory deprivation use. It's simply not safe. Latex Vac-Beds require a play partner for safety reasons.
What will I receive from you?
Standard Latex Vac-Beds ship with the latex envelope, the PVC frame, and a breathing tube. Please note, the frame will be in six pieces for easy storage. (It's simple to assemble too!)
Do I have to keep my vacuum turned on the whole time I'm playing with the Latex Vac-Bed?
At this time, yes. The zippers needed to make an air-tight seal are prohibitively expensive. The cost of a Latex Vac-Bed made with those materials would be easily double our normal price.
Won't it be awfully loud inside the Latex Vac-Bed?
Many rubberists enjoy the drone of the vacuum, using it as white noise to help them get into head space. Others use earplugs, or headphones. We recommend that if you are using headphones with an mp3 player, you place the player in a plastic bag and bring it in the Latex Vac-Bed with you.

The good times are only limited by your imagination! This is latex, though, so give those sharp toys a night off. And, if your Latex Vac-Bed is made of clear or light-colored latex, please remove all metal before getting in there, and don't use metal toys.
What kind of vacuum should I use with the Latex Vac-Bed?
We suggest that you use a vacuum with a low horsepower. Check around for quiet options. Make sure your vacuum has a hose with a 1.25" diameter at the end. If the hose is a little bit loose, you can wrap some masking tape around the end to make a tighter fit with our frame. Be sensible and don't run your vacuum for hours and hours without letting it rest as you could possibly wear out the motor.
Can I use lube with your Latex Vac-Beds?
Yes! As with all latex products, you should not use petrolium-based products. We highly recommend silicone.
